Together with the Technical University of Munich (TUM) as the project coordinator, along with consortium partners Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg (MLU), RWTH Aachen University (RWTH), and aratall GmbH, Osnabrück, we are collaborating with Claudius Brodmann as UX experts within the framework of a joint project. The research goal is to investigate the acceptance potential for extensive renewable energies.
Agri-Photovoltaics (APV), Floating-Photovoltaics (FPV), and Airborne-Wind-Energy (AWE) are often unknown technologies and, despite, or perhaps because of their extensive spatial requirements and tendency towards ubiquitous but also temporary spatial distribution, raise specific questions about societal acceptance.
We are developing a gamification and simulation tool enabling the active participation of citizens in the design process. This innovative simulation uses Virtual and Augmented Reality to offer citizens a realistic preview of potential environmental changes.
The Geekettez will support TU Munich with a User Experience concept and layout, considering gamified interaction scenarios within this project. Furthermore, we will test and evaluate a prototype in specific regions in Germany through focus groups.
This research project within the consortium represents a significant step towards a sustainable and participatory energy future. We look forward to contributing to shaping a sustainable future!
Project Funding is by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK) based on a decision by the German Bundestag and runs until April 2025.
