In September of this year, the renowned taz, die Tageszeitung embarked on a relaunch that marks the beginning of a new chapter for taz, as the publisher replaces the printed newspaper during the week with a purely digital version. The goal was to enhance the user experience of taz’s digital products, ensuring the publisher’s future viability. This process concentrated on two main areas: the development of the taz app (view our case study) and the evolution of taz online (taz publisher pages). Over the past three years, we closely collaborated with the creative minds and staff of the taz to support this effort.
UX Support for taz, die Tageszeitung
Through intensive research and workshop phases, we assisted the publisher in defining, and sharpening their vision and goals for the new publisher section. The results laid the foundation for a forward-thinking direction. Following this phase, we had the opportunity to refine this vision through interaction design and information architecture. These efforts contributed to a user-friendly and well-thought-out system tailored to readers’ needs.
Additionally, we supported the development of taz’s new design system, contributing to an aesthetically appealing and functionally sound interface that innovatively represents the brand identity of the publisher.
The relaunch of taz’s publisher pages marks a significant milestone in the publisher’s history and reflects its continuous adaptation to the evolving demands of the media landscape. We were delighted to contribute to the successful implementation of this transformation, thereby enhancing taz’s future security.
